I'm not exactly sure where to put this question but I was looking up cemari chickens because I found them to be absolutely gorgeous, and this thing kept coming up for "chicken pearls". Does anyone have any idea what they are? They look like gall stones or something of that sort to me. Can't...
I got a chick at the feed store that was colored exactly like my oegb. She has turned out rather large for a bantam. She is birchen in color except her chest which is a rosy color, she has blue/grey legs and iridescent ear lobes. At first I thought she was an ee because of the color and legs but...
I have a black tailed buff japanese and a couple of his offspring that seem to keep getting a recurring fungal infection on their combs. I have some medicine for it but it seems like it just comes right back. Now I also have a mottled cochin that has a crazy lop comb that seems to have something...

I have a 2 yr old japanese rooster with this bizzare white stuff all over his comb and it smells odd. It looks like it could be a fungus. So I put some stuff on it I got for a fungal infection in another chicken. Any ideas what it might be? I'll try to get pics.
I have a barred rock rooster that thinks he needs to spar with anyone that walks by. It doesn't seem to matter if I beat the crap out of him and dominate him. Why is he doing this? I will not kill him so please don't even suggest that. I will separate him if I have to.
I know he is some sort of duccle but his wing feathers stick out really weird and hes a color i've never seen before. any ideas of what this little feller is would be awesome.
I love cochins! So send me your favorite pics of your cochins. Age, name, and color. As of right now there is no prize because i can not afford to ship eggs. if someone would like to donate a prize they can.
i posted yesterday about my roo that got attacked by 3 others. this is his head today. and believe me, its not near like it was yesterday. hes completely blind in one eye now, and he does have the other about half open and can see out of it. ive been having problems getting him to eat or drink...
I had roos gang up on my pretty dark brahma. His eyes are swelled shut and he has no feathers left on his head. So far we have tried soaking the blood off. Dissolved a baby asprin and slowly giving it to him. Idk what else ro do. How do I get the swelling to go down? Please help. I already lost...
my husband was gathering eggs and came to me concerned that one had blood on it. now i know a little blood is normal, but this one was covered. it was a blue egg so i had it narrowed down to who it could possibly be but they all look fine. there is blood all over the nest box, a perch, on the...
I have 6 boys I call the teenagers. Weeble, Wobble, Jagger, Judas, Ted, and Jim Tom. Weird names, lol, I know. Friday I was woken by my neighbor saying she had one of my roos on her front porch, and she sent me a pic and i saw it was Weeble. Just as i was leaving the house I got another call...
A few months ago i posted about a hen having what i suspected was an ear infection. Well whatever it is she still has it. Her ears are full of the orange cheesy looking stuff, and if you pull that out there is more whitish goo underneath. She's scratched so much both ears are scarred up around...
I have a bantam BLRW and one of her wattles is swollen and hot to the tough. I see no injury to the area or anything out of the ordinary. This same hen almost soley lays shelless eggs even though she has plenty of calcium and the other hens have very strong shells. Idk if this is related or...
I have a cockerel named Tweety, he's a BLRWxBlack tailed buff japanese. He's been limping for weeks now. It was almost gone at one point and now its back with a vengence. I've felt both legs and looked him over carefully and haven't seen anything out of the ordinary. What could it be?
I have an EE Pullet named Marilyn, every day i have to use warm water to soften up the flaps of feathers over her ears and then sometimes pull chunks of cheesy looking wax out of her ears. It obviously bothers her because she scratches at them all the time and yawns a lot. I just keep on...
The day before yesterday i came home to find my eexcochin Rose dead...i assumed it was from the heat because her and her sisters pant when its not even hot out... Today it got up to 109 degrees and i had more waterers than chickens out and they all had electrolites in them, plus they were free...
