I was just candleing my eggs and they are at day 8. I had a egg that was all black so after thinking about it i decided to break open and see and yes it was a rotten egg. But i thought rotten eggs were meant to be clear? is that only at the start? Also some of the eggs i can see the babies etc...

I have a hen that is broody and since it was only my 2nd time trying to hatch eggs, i didn't candle the eggs as was worried i would not know what to look for and throw ones that were good and not bad. Anyway so i didn't candle them. Well...
Eggs due to hatch today but.... Just lefted her up just to check as this is only my 2nd time so it is exciting but none have hatched but it looks like one has poped and it was rotten and now they are all very dirty so do i clean them or leave them?
