I know my rabbits well, and basics on chickens but havent seen any laid out for coturnix, any one know of a site? I know wild type is dominent, and I know silver is dominent(2 copies equal dead also) but what about te rest? Range seams recessive, golden recessive but those im guessing at... Now...

It is female, but no breast spots makes me think the Manchurian gene is involved. but aside from that i got nothing, her coloring is weird... there are aspects...
I had arranged with a couple different sellers last year to fill in my missing coturnix quail colors, but i got caught up taking care of my mother as she battled cancer... that pretty much took up all my attention for this last year. I have free time again and want to fill in my colors again...
Had a rough year this year, only now getting back to the birds, put a few in the fair, but managed to win champion Quail with this lovely blue tux old female. pics don't do her justice :) Reserve was a cute golden manchurian... big class this year, 60 entries.

do I skin the turkey (heritage turkey not broad breasted) or use it whole. I've been told to cut it with pork.

Looks like I've got quite the mix in this hatch! They were supposed to be charcoals and silvers (which means that I could also have browns and british range), but it looks like I got some others/other patterns lol.
I guess i'll be using this thread to update and track the way these guys...
Can anyone suggest a reliable source for coloured coturnix hatching eggs (to ship). I want to get a few more colors. I have golden italian, browns, tibetans, rosettas and a whole host of tuxedos and pieds, looking for different colors. Scarlet, fawn, red etc...

I have an existing flock of 6 juniors (approximately 4 months old or so). I have to add to that a mature unrelated male and female. Will they be ok together? its a big pen. anything i should watch for?
I'm trying to help a friend sex some young cameos, they are about 4months old. I was just looking for bars on their wings, but not sure if i'm seeing any or not. anyone have any comparison photos for me?

I've been lurking through the threads for a long time now, but still don't see the tricks all of the time. I have 5 peachicks. an IB, and 2 BS that are about 6 weeks or so and 2 dark pieds(?) that are about 8 weeks or so. Everything i'm seeing here is making me think i have all males :(...
Peachick # 4 isn't doing so well. the 2 slightly older ones are doing fine, and the 3 siblings are doing fine too, but this one seams to be wasting away. I have tried feeding it boiled egg yolks, and it did try to eat some, but thats about it. its about 10-14 days old. its getting quite weak...
