    Pullets or cockerels?

You guys have already helped my sex the other 3 in the hatch but these 3 are still in question. (3rd and 4th picture is the same chick) Any thoughts? They’re 5 weeks old and barnyard mixes. Thanks for any input!

    Little roos?

I hatched off these little barnyard mixes, now 5 weeks old, and I’m thinking these 3 are little boys. The combs seem awful red and big for only 5 weeks old but I’m still fairly new to this. What do you think?

What breed (or mixes) could he/she be?

I had a broody hen hatch a single chick. I got the egg from a girl selling eggs who didn’t know much about what breeds she actually had. I’m thinking it looks SLW-ish but I’m still pretty new to all of this. What does everyone think? I’m sure it could be a barnyard mix too. TIA

Breeding OE hen to EE roo…

I can’t seem to find much info on breeding these two. I have an EE roo from Meyer Hatchery and an OE hen from Rural King (Hoovers). She has gone broody and I was wondering, if I breed them, what are the possible (or likely) egg colors the offspring might lay? Thanks for any input!

    Pullet or Cockerel…Easter Egger?

This is (I believe) my 9 week old Easter Egger. I ordered a random assortment along with 2 Easter Eggers from Meyer Hatchery so I’m not 100% confident. It’s supposed to be a pullet but it’s much larger than the other 10 from the same hatch and it’s extremely bossy. What do you think at 9 weeks...

    Selectively naughty rooster…

I’ve been researching my head off trying to figure this one out but I can’t really find any information and I’m very new to raising chickens of my own. I have a mixed age flock of 25 (24 hens/pullets and a single rooster). About a week or two ago, my gentlemanly roo became not so gentle with one...

    Pullet and roo?

So, I ordered all pullets as I already have a roo and wanted to keep it that way BUT, this lighter colored Partridge Cochin is a little roo isn’t it? If so, hopefully it gets along with my current light brahma rooster. They are 5 weeks old.

Is this a normal first egg?

My olive egger (18 weeks old) just laid her first egg and it looks like this. What’s wrong or is this normal for a first timer? I am going to include more calcium from now on also.

    What is this girl?

I got this girl from Rural King in mid February. She was supposed to be a Light Brahma, obviously that’s not the case! They also had Olive Eggers at the time so I’m wondering if that’s what she is. Could anyone tell me please?

    What breed?

I ordered an all female rainbow assortment of chicks from Meyer Hatchery and I’m very inexperienced with breeds. Can anyone tell me what these two are (and are they the same breed)? They have feathered feet and no puffy cheeks. They’re a week old. Thank you!

    Light Brahma pullet or cockerel?

This is my 4 month old Light Brahma (supposed to be a pullet)… this morning it started flapping its wings and attempting to crow. My sister in law says it’s a pullet imitating a cockerel but I’m not sure I would agree. What do you think? I’m new to having my own flock so I’m not very seasoned...

New here and new to a flock of my own…

I’m new to raising a flock of my own this year and I’m excited for this new adventure. I was raised around chickens most of my life but never thought much of having my own until more recently. My kids are getting older and I have more time on my hands. I currently have 14 chicks, all supposed to...
