How can I stop a hen from roosting in a nest instead of a pole. Out of ten chickens I have to young buffs that roost in the nest. And they switch nest from time to time and I just as soon put them in boiling water if I can not break the habit.

I have notice that some of my hens are staying a long time on the nest. And their usually eggs from other hens in there. Is it like going to the bathroom and having to wait. I usually scat them out to retrieve the eggs when I know they have been there for awhile. Whats up with that?

Yes I am sure she is a hen has chicks. She will just throw her head back and crow. I have never seen any thing like it.

I was given a chicken because I was the only one willing to give it a home. But she can't stand up and walk I have checked her over but see no wounds. One wing looks injured and she does crawl around and feeds. Will she heal by herself a vet visit is not a option what should be done.

I do not know their age and they are still with their mother . Do I need to separate them I could really use some feed back.

Traded for a bb red hen and when I got to the truck it had four chicks under it. I am not sure of the age but they are little will post pics tomorrow. One of them flapped his little wings and had a small lift off. But they are so small hope to have their age figured out by tomorrow with your help.

How do get chickens to relocate to a new coop? I round them up this evening and placed them in there new home. How long should I leave them in there for them to call it home. I also have 2 young buff who huddled up in bushes outside the coop outside the coop at roosting time. Whats up with that.
