Needing advice on my young Speckled Sussex. About a week and a half ago I noticed he and another chick were acting sickly. Still eating and drinking but very slow moving, droopy eyes and very sleepy. Put electrolytes and probiotics in the water and put terramycin in the eyes. Other chick made...
All signs point to pullet, except for the crest feathers.
She/He is about 8 or 9 weeks old now.
Demeanor is very chill, calm. Does not spar with the other rooster who spars with everyone 🤣
Posture: more horizontal/squated
Comb: still pretty much nonexistent and no signs of waddles coming in...
6-7 Week Old Chicks
The last 2 weeks one of my chicks had a respiratory or eye infection going on. I had flushed her eye and given her terramycin for a week and she seems pretty much back to normal, but yesterday I noticed one of my other chicks was acting sluggish/sickly. And I noticed their...
Hi!
I noticed my polish pullet has a gap between her beak a few weeks ago. As she gets older I feel like the gap is bigger. It doesn't seem to bother her or keep her from being able to eat or drink, but just curious if anyone else has had this before? It doesn't cross its perfectly straight but...
Hatchery sexed pullet. Waiting on DNA results, but they got lost with USPS so I'll have to re-send. I Posted about her a few weeks ago, but posting updated pics now. Clinging on to hope that she is a pullet with a big comb 😭🤞🏼 (comb is light pink in person, not red)
1 week old (when I got her)...
I know there's no definite on this. Bought as a hatchery sexed pullet. Just curious if she looks like a pullet based on yalls experience 🩷
Shes about 3 weeks old.
Excuse the poop, this was pre- daily clean up lol
Hi!
I noticed my polish pullet has a gap between her beak. It doesn't seem to bother her or keep her from being able to eat or drink, but just curious if anyone else has had this before? Anything I can do to help?
Sold as a pullet from local hatchery. The comb is bigger than the others I have but just curious if it looks like a pullet or did they give me a roo?
Pictures as a baby and pics now at 3 weeks
Her comb and white on the chest concern me given other posts I've seen.
My mother in law got her and a few other hens from a farm. They didn't know the breed but they all look identical do not sure if this just a BYM or a certain breed.
Her name is Loretta and shes iridescent black with a rose comb and she lays peachy / pink eggs.
Curious what yall think the grow out will be for this little one? I've never seen one with this coloring as a chick. Only Silkies in the breeding pen so not a mix
In Louisiana and it's over 100 degrees. We lost one last year from the heat so this year we put big industrial fans for them and they're completely in the shade. All the others seem fine but she looked REALLY rough when I got home. I thought maybe egg bound but there's stuff coming out of her so...
What color do yall think she will be?
Her crest is blue, but her body is mostly white. She has some splashes of peach and a few wing feathers that have partridge tips lol
Hi! I know there is no full proof way to know until they crow or lay and egg, but just looking for input on what it looks like at this point? Behavior wise very pullet, the breeder is a friend of mine and it is the smallest and most chill of all of them. No comb growth, etc.
It is 6 weeks old!
What breed is this? Barnyard mix but curious what it looks like breedwise. 8 weeks old. Pullet right? No comb at all, but definitely the highest on the pecking order lol
We got this barn yard mix, not sure on what breed honestly. But, confused on if this is a big combed pullet or a slow developing rooster. Here are pics week by week. He/She is currently about 5 weeks old.
Curious yalls thoughts on pullet or cockerel? I bought it around 3 weeks old from a local breeder, mom was mille fleur duccle, dad was black frizzle cochin rooster. It was the smallest of the group, like half the size of the others. It's very skiddish towards me but it's very fiesty. Really...
