These are all straight run bantams from my local co-op. Any ideas on breed and colors? I know Cochins, and old English were listed. Others they said were random, but all pure
So I don’t have pictures of all three because this happened the other day and taking pictures wasn’t my current concern, but 2 of the hens died and I’m not sure what happened. So I was in the middle of doing my chores inside, when all my chickens start freaking out (mind you, they “free range”...
Just bought today at tractor supply it was sealed well and everything, and of course, expensive. This is my first time trying this brand, and they’re very tiny bugs infested. Still edible for my 4 month old chicks? Or no?
No bumblefoot, no swollen pad, no redness, no spots, no leg mites, nothing. She’s just limping quite bad. Possibly a sprain? Been limping for about 3 weeks but it’s gotten worse
It’s a 8 week old buff orpington, meeting someone in 30 minutes to sell it as a hen?? But I went to check them and I noticed the comb was a little big so I don’t know. My lavender orpington hen was this way too but she turned out to be a hen.
She was a great mom, but all of a sudden attacking babies aggressively, and when I let her out for free time, poof, she’s off with the rest of the flock. What do I do? The babies cry and cry and cry when she leaves them. She doesn’t attack them constantly, but it’s becoming a bit of an issue...
My mama hen had 2 bantam babies 2 standard (she’s a bantam herself) and her bantam baby is missing I was watching them free range out in the front yard and i went inside for water came right back and they were gone 😭 What got the bantam baby
What do I do now? Make her sit another 21 days? Or broody break her?(I don’t have any crates or anything to really broody break her, anyways.) She gets off the nest every day, and takes care of her self. So sad about all the babies though 😞
It eats and drinks fine, but the toes curl inwards and are sort of shriveled up like prunes , it can sort of walk but not easily. What do I do? The rest of the chicks are fine. It freaks out when I take it away from its siblings
I played a chick sound under her and she got very exited , started to peek under her and cluck. It’s only been 6 days, but I’m picking up 4 chicks Tommorow. She is 9 months old. I do have a “backup broody” who’s been sitting 7 days.
He hangs in the vicinity of the coop, but not super close, and is timid. Should I be worried? I have chicken wire on the coop now, but can’t really afford hardware cloth. Best pic I have
Every time I set her down she just lays down, she won’t really walk around much, she’ll pick around at food but won’t really eat much and she won’t drink anything. She’s a 8 week old buff orpington mix, and I can’t find anything. I don’t see any bloody poop, for that matter.. no unusual poop at...
1. What is the cheapest option for fencing?
2. How much (roughly) does food cost per year if it has a field to graze?
3. IYO what’s the best horse breeds for beginners?
4. Do they HAVE to have a stall? Or can they just be in a pasture 24/7? Also, blanket on cold days, or no? (Ik everyone has...
He’s 9 months old, and he has no interest in mating with any girls - instead, he “mates” with water jugs, flower pots, food bowls, water bowls, rocks, chairs, you name it. He also likes to take naps in bushes - which I don’t see that unusual, I’ve just never had any other chickens go to sleep...
