Currently have 3 mixes that I've been taking progress photos of weekly. Thought it might be interesting to keep updating this as they get older.
This is the Rooster and these 3 are the 'mums' not sure which chick belongs to which hen though. They're also being raised by a different hen
All 3...
Kia ora! This is Huginn, we have no idea what she's a mix of because we inherited her.
My question is, as Huginn has blue legs does that in theory mean she carries a Grey/blue gene?
Mostly ask because we may end up with some chicks from her and the actual Grey hen we have may not be laying...
Wanted to show off the hilariously different sized eggs we have atm.
The smallest egg weighs 41g and the largest is 75g

Kia ora,
We've introduced a new roo into the flock of 9 hens (4 pullets).
My guess is he's a barred rock mixed with who knows what, if anyone has another opinion please let me know!
I'm wondering if anyone had any clues as to how old he may be so I know how much I should watch for behavioural...
I’m fairly sure we’ve got 1 boy and 3 girls, in saying that I could be completely Incorrect. Chicks are 6 weeks old and I’ve added photos of the roo and the likely hens.
Also still pretty curious as to what breed make up they could be. The black and white hen is clearly a mix of barred rock (?)...
Just thought the patterns looked pretty cool and wanted to share!

Interested in anyone's thoughts on the chick's genders & possible mixes. Dad is the rooster mum, or at least who hatched them and is raising them is the black chicken.
No clue what any of the chicken's breeds are, I'm sort of assuming their mixed? I have some guesses but I really don't know...
Neighbours chickens free roam on their property and the property I live on.
At night they roost in trees so I figured I'd share a few photos.
We live where there are limited predators so I guess this is how they've decided to raise chickens. Seems to work well the chickens are all fairly old...
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
The chickens that live on the property live on are free roaming chickens who are owned by the neighbour.
The previous place I lived at raised some chickens to use for eggs so that was my first 'real' experience around chicks &...
