So I thought I'd consult the experts. I have a converted horse stall that is the coop with 11 girls 2 boys and two roosters. This week in Montana we've been nailed with the worst weather. Last night was -15F. My coop is not insulated, but I have a thick layer of shavings down as well as a straw...
So here it goes posted yesterday got one reply.
Just moved to Montana from California 11 hens 2 roosters. Acquired a turkey jake and royal palm hen. Quarantined them properly. I noticed some sneezing in some of my birds even in california...heard was somewhat normal, no big deal then.

So we just moved her from California to Montana about just under two months ago. I brought my 11 hens and two roosters. Purchased a Turkey Jake and one year old hen. Quarantined and then integrated. I noticed even in california that one of my hens sneezed, and then recently a few more. I'm not...
So I have chickens, been doing them for a few years. Just recently purchased a Spanish Black Jake and a royal palm hen. I know I can't really get much of the two so....I've fallen in love with Sweetgrass and Blue Slates...what is your opinion of them? Where can I get good ones? And anymore...
So I just got two Turkeys A Spanish Jake and a Royal Palm hen. And I'm pretty new to Turkeys I have chickens, but at what age do the males full mature and strut their stuff.
so a friend of mine got three ducklings two weeks ago, no idea of breed and obviously no idea of gender, so I've done some research but seeing as how I've never owned ducks, only chickens I figured I'd leave the guesses up to the people who have. So here they are, question is...Breed? Gender?
I have a beautiful young and hearty brown leghorn trio for sale. One cockerel and two pullets. The Cockerel has already begun doing his business and has recently started crowing and wooing his ladies. The price is pretty firm as these are very good birds. Serious buyers only please.
So I have a gold laced brahma who is of laying age. She was lower on the pecking order because she was younger, and one day she was allowed up on the top roost ( maybe 6ft high) to sleep. Well apparently Brahmas's aren't meant to be on the top roost, needles to say she jumped down the following...
So I'll tell you the whole story.....I'm not new to chickens but I just wanted to make sure this is what is happening, or at least what I think is happening. Almost two weeks ago, my husband, and myself got rid of our original coop. Converted a shed into a bigger much roomier coop for the birds...
I'm looking for a pair of females for my HUGE buff Brahma boy. Of course leave it to me to have one of the most difficult breeds to find anything of. If anyone can point me in the right direction. I've posted on the brahma thread but more or less get ignored. Thanks!!
So I have a young pullet who I recently got she was doing really well, very sweet. Nothing out of the ordinary, until yesterday I noticed she had blood in her poop. It's thick and mucus like, stringy but definitely tinged with blood. So I got Corid and she's been drinking water like...

I have a young Black copper Maran Cockeral from Gabbard farms I hatched. Really sweet but I don't need 4 roos right now. Free to the right good home. Not for eating. I will get pictures ASAP.
I have up for sale a beautiful 4 month old Blue laced Red wayandotte pullet that I hatched on Nov 5th of 2010. She is vaccinated for mareks and is already out in the coop...I hatched her from eggs I purchased from Chicken Scratch poultry.
So I've been told based on how a partridge silkie feathers out you can sex them based on color. So does the same apply to a blue partridge silkie...can you tell by the color they feather out.
