This chicken came from TSC and I have no idea, my husband bought it because my daughter wanted it. I have been dealing with a number of problems in the flock since the weather changed and Honestly, the two chicks he bought have kinda raised themselves. I think they are the ones that started...
I have lost 6 chicks and 2 adult chickens. Now I have an adult chicken with weird wormy things all over her back half. They are not just in the immediate vent area, but in the feathers out around the back third of the chicken. They are dropping off her at an alarming rate now that I rinsed...
We almost burned down the whole coop last night. Our coop is on skids so it can be moved around the pasture/yard. My husband moved the coop, settled everything including looking for late eggs, and closed up the coop. We have had heat lamps in the coop during the coldest part of the winter...
This chicken is 4 months old today. I don’t know her breed to look it up. Can anyone tell
Me for sure? Also, she has the largest comb and wattles of any of my chickens so I worry about her being a rooster, even though I’ve been told she is a pullet. So, is she a she or a he?
Thanks for...
Looking at the brown bird in each photo, are these two birds the same breed? Which breed would you guess? The darker one is a rooster, right? Thanks for any
1) What type of bird , age and weight. Ameraucana approx 1 year no clue what weight, small
2) What is the behavior, exactly. Dog chewed on bird's rear end, top of body above tail, torn skin with tail hanging, minor bleeding now
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting...

Thought this was funny. He showed it to every body in town! How cute!
Please look at my EE chickens and reassure me what gender they are. They are all 15.5 weeks old and I would like to be sure before my next processing run. I am going to offer the roosters to some folks but if they are not taken then they need to go to freezer camp. Except for one.
Please be...
Are these boys or girls? I have 4 I know are roosters, but there are 2 more possibles and I am, of course, looking for layers. I know that perfect pictures would be preferred but this is as good as it gets. I can get legs or heads or tails in seperate pics but getting these crazy chickens to...
Well, my lab/hound dog mix breed female got IN my chicken run and tried to eat my young chickens. My terrier (who could not get into the pen) was running around the outside barking his fool head off. That was the only way I knew what was going on. I saved them all, thank God, but I can't...
Okay, here is an interesting dilemna. I have a 100 # feed bag that I bought months ago. My chickens free range and are doing GREAT and do not eat that much feed. It is lasting me a LONG time. However, first I got moths, then I got beetles and then I got weird little tiny mite thingies (I...
Well, hubby got the Chicken Cam up and running. Now I can watch to see who lays what egg where!!! Next chicken cam needs to be strapped to my chicken so I can see where she goes free ranging. Just kidding, that is not going to happen any time soon. I am trying to get the feed to the...
Okay, here are 10 of my 11 chicks's combs. EE, all from the same flock of chickens, all hatched within 72 hours of each other. Some bodies are bigger then others but the bigger combs do not necessarily match with bigger bodies.
What sexes would you guess?
Thanks!
I already posted about this in the egg-laying section but they recommended that I post it here and ask for help. There has been no discussion there and I am not trying to cross post, so here we go!
I have an Ameraucana cross (EE) (about 9 months old) that is laying a white egg with blood in...
I have an Ameraucana cross (EE) that is laying a white egg with blood in the yolk. It is not a spot of blood but rather blood inside the yolk. It is slightly redder than the surrounding (very yellow) yolk. It gives the egg a slightly different flavor than the other ones which do NOT have this...
I have 3 laying hens. I have 2 black austrolorps (mixed, I'm sure) and one ameracauna (mixed I know). Here are pics of one of the BA and the Ameracauna (EE). I get 3 different eggs, one white, one olive and one blue. Who is laying what?
BA (pics of one but they are a matched pair) Mary...
Quick before he goes to Freezer camp, should I keep this bird because he is some cool genetic mutation and someone will pay lots of money for him?
Haha, just kidding, what kind of comb is this?
This is an Ameracauna (mix, obviously), I just wanted to know what the comb is.

This baby is the largest (and prettiest) of my chicks, probably around 18 days old. Her comb has gotten pinker all of a sudden and it is getting bumpy where none of the others are. Is she a roo?
Here's a side picture of her/him too but I don't think it will help much.
