I have two ducklings. Friday evening of two days ago, these ducklings turned around 3 weeks old. They also however started showing some signs of niacin deficiency. I had not supplemented them extra at this point but came to the rescue with a liberal amount of nutritional yeast in their food each...
My 4 week old black swedish drake (I am assuming due to vent sex results) has these black spots on his beak, similar to those found on the beaks of a laying female.
He is so young, but does this mean that he is actually a hen or is it just a unique trait?
Today I went Into my duck run to find the usual egg. When I found the egg I examined it to see a large gray stain on one of the sides. I assume it is due to some calcium issue, however they are on laying feed.
I wondered if anyone as seen this before, and if it were safe to eat.
Thanks
