Exchequer Leghorn fanciers and breeders thread

I wanted to create this thread to bring exchequer fanciers, enthusiasts, and breeders together. I have noticed in the past years this breed is hard to find and slowly dying out. Few hatcheries have them and when they do they sell out quick and there is very few private breeders. Below a...

    Color I.d. on project bird.

I can't figure out what is going on with the color of this bird- I think she's gorgeous but the color isn't anything I've seen before. The mother is a silkie crossed with a gold cock. And I line bred the hen back to the gold cock and this is the result. Any guesses as to what is going on here?

Breeding Exchequer colored birds for type with a limited gene pool.

What would it take to breed Exchequer leghorns to the standard? Obviously it would take time but how do you get around the hurdle of birds lacking type and getting type into the next generation? From what ive gathered Exchequer leghorns are not very common so it's not like you have of breeders...

    reducing waste

So im pretty sure when I clean out the bantam's coop i take at least a bag of food out that some how ended up on the ground, I changed the feeder and they still do it. I was thinking I would just ration them to so much a day in stead of all they can eat, so how much food does a bantam hen eat?

    PMU Rescue

So probably next year im going to start looking for a young horse (less then two) I have worked in the past with PMUs and really loved them. I would like to adopt one, but the only rescues in the area ask for an absurd amount of money for an unregistered horse. Does that sound bad? Is there a...
