Hi,
I am looking for a Polish rooster and some hens if possible. Also some brown egg layers and colored egg layers. Another regular rooster would be good also. Possible an Americana Roo.
Thanks so much!
Is there a feed/grain that you feed both? Just wanting to buy one type of grain/feed instead of chicken feed that is harmful to goats. Though I keep them away from it, but it would be nice......
Thanks everyone
Amy
Hi,
I do keep a light on in the coop for heat, they are not outside much, due to Wi. weather. When do you think I should expect some eggs? The are ee, orphingtons and barred rocks.
Thanks
Amy
And they just do not want to go roam around outside in this weather. Though I wouldn't either. So, is this normal for chickens in the winter??
Thanks so much

I have been leaving the light on, they are about 16 wks old, not laying yet. But should I not keep it on over night? The back part of my coop is a bit darker and they are usually ther unless to cold??
I have heard that some people have used crates for there nesting boxes???? What are your ideas on that. I am wondering if that could be my problem with the hens not laying. I use pine shavings in the coop and then just added straw to it and in the "nest boxes" along with a golf ball in each....
My girls were sent to me on June 24(I picked them up as day old chicks). I have barred rocks, americanas and buff orphingtons. Total of 12? I just want tot make sure they are all right:) Thanks
Amy

Thank

My coop isn't insulated so I am wondering if it would be best to use a higher watt bulb in the heating lamp?? I have a 65 watt one now but am thinking of switching to a warmer bulb come "real" cold weather here in central wisconsin??
Thanks
Amy
I am thinking my 6 wk old chicks might be ready to go in the coop.. But I am a bit worried they may fly out of the run. They are flying to the top of the broader box and roasting when i feed them and check on them? The fencing is only 4ft fencing. But I am also worried they may get to cold...
We built our coop inside what use to be a dog kennel area. It is ALOT of space but there is no grass at the moment, just weeds. What would you use for ground cover??
thanks
amy
I ordered my chick and they arrived on Wed. Now I need to go and buy my lumber and most of the supplies needed to make my coop & run. But..... i will be building this without the help of my hubby:( so I am hoping someone can help me with design the 6' with the 8 ' front(sorry I am a newbie)...
Hi,
I am a new chick owner, as of Wed., my day old ladies came to me. I did order some Americanas, barred rocks and some orphingtons!! I am very excited about, though now I have to move quick to get my coop and run done, 6 wks. for about 25 hens.
