Mother Hen (a cross) and 15 of her 16 chicks. She had a nest hidden in the bush and one day she walked out with 16 bumblebee sized chicks in tow. She was sitting on 18 eggs.
I knew she was laying eggs in that area but I couldn't find her.
From the looks of the chicks the Father must be the SG...
Posting for a friend who doesn't have a computer.
Some of her young birds at approx 8-10 weeks are vigorous and healthy one day, the next day the odd one is hunched up and doesn't eat, within 48 hours it is dead. Light as a feather when you pick them up.
None of her adult birds have died this...
Anybody heard of these meat birds?
They are supposed to do better as a pasture raised meat bird,
Wider breast than a Freedom Ranger.
Finish at 12-13 weeks.
They look like a Barred Rock. A hybrid of some sort, all very secret as to their heritage.
They come from a place in the USA.

I also noticed he stopped roosting on the perch, he started sleeping in a laying box.
Now he aslo seems unbalanced. Sometimes he almost falls over.
He is sitting...
Very impressive new technology but I'm not sure how I feel about it. Do we really need this? I want to go the other direction back to simpler times.

My Friend ordered five Exchequer Leghorns from a hatchery, I think it was Ideal.
When they were grown it turned out only one is a Ex Leghorn. The other four are the same color, black and white speckled but are smaller, not flighty, have pinkish white legs, and lay a smaller white egg.
I hope...
