Ok so I started with a few chicks, then progressed to turkeys, I have a couple goats for fun but since my daughter asked if we could raise a pig for 4H we are now moving into Pork! LOL

I started this thread because for the first time I've ordered baby chicks through the mail from a hatchery not in my state. I am concerned after reading through a few threads about them surviving the trip. I know that there are many factors to take into consideration when ordering by mail but...
I've hatched chicks...but this is the first duck ...my friend gave me 2 ducklings and lo an' behold breeding pair! so decided to try hatching...out of 6 ...4 are viable here are photos at day 14....my question is when should I put them in the hatcher? I know on average they say 25 days. I know...
I have 3 duck eggs I want to put in the bator and wondered if the auto egg turner I have for the chicken eggs can handle the larger duck eggs? does anyone know? or have you done this? if so, was it successful?

not sure but looks like the sac isn't completely absorbed either...he/she zipped the shell but when popped out looks like part of yolk not completely in...should I worry?
I need to find out where I can purchase shipping materials for eggs. Such as foam for all sizes of eggs be it chicken, goose, duck or turkey. hopefullly someone will have links to places for safe shipping materials, it seems I have been inDUCKted into all things poultry!! LOL ah well who...
