Here's sort of an example of the difference: The yellowy one on the left doesn't bleed much. I can pull the sheets out and sometimes there is some stringy white material beneath it. The one on the right is kinda what the tissue beneath the scab on Brie's one foot looks like. But I haven't been...

I have only found liquid (clear and whitish/yellow) pus in the foot I performed surgery on yesterday. Her left foot when upside down, her right foot when standing. This is the one that I think had a bad reaction to NU stock. Brie's other foot has a large, hard, black scab (the biggest scab...

Thanks so much! 😭 It's been a lot of work. But it's worth it for my girl. 💗 The more I work on them, the more I think it is bumble foot. I was just confused when I did surgery that first time and it didn't look like any of my research. I think it might actually just be that one foot that is...

So cute!! This isn't an entry, just a better photo of my Sadie girl.

Her name is Sadie, and she is a Buff Orpington. That's so funny they look similar! 😂 Sadie demands hugs all the time. 🤣

~ Update ~ I performed surgery on Brie today. I hadn't started off thinking I would. When I started cleaning her foot out, I seemed to actually be removing pieces of infection (?), so I continued deeper into the foot. I'm not exactly squeamish like some girls, but man that was tough. It seemed...

I have not seen any limping in any of the hens, thankfully! I noticed Brie's comb is slightly paler than the other hens -- not by much. Other than that, I have not seen any changes in them since getting bumble foot.

Thank you, LaFleche! I will look for some disposable gloves that fit to try and use when I work on them. :)

You'll have to let me know how that goes! I sure hope they heal up well! 💗

~ Update ~ The swelling on the bottom of Brie's foot has gone down. I have not encountered much pus. I am encouraged that it has improved some. However, I believe the swelling on the top of her foot may be worse. It is more prominent than before. I'm concerned that the infection may be deep in...

Thanks so much! Did you end up having to surgically remove them? If so, did it bleed a lot? Brie starts bleeding a ton even when I barely start working on it. I think Brie has it pretty deep in her foot.

I just came inside from sanding and cleaning the coop/run/aviary. We didn't seem to find anything that could cause splinters. There were two spots on the top roosting bar (where the Faverolles sit) that were a little rough. But I could run my hand over them without any problems. I could also...

Thank you for taking the time to respond to me! I'm sorry it's taken me a while to get back! We are getting our garden planted for the year, so we have been busy. I will make sure to check their roosting bars for the things you have mentioned. I had checked a while back and they were smooth. But...

Thanks for helping with my birdies! It's so nice of you to keep coming back and checking on them! 🤗 I will treat it like it is bumble foot. I checked her foot on Friday and it looked like the swelling had gone down some. It's still pretty bad but at least it's better than it was! I'm gonna...

That sounds like a wonderful idea! I really enjoyed talking about gardening with you! It was super nice of you to add me to the last chat! 🤗 I just have a lot to keep up with and it was too much for me to read through.

~ Update ~ I think my little Brie had a horrible reaction to NU Stock on her foot! Brie's feet have slowly been improving since I started treating her about a month ago. I was using Prid and Durvet Epsom Salt Poultice interchangeably. I have worked so hard to help her feet. It was moving along...

Speckled Sussex with Small Gash on Bottom, Red Skin, & Missing Feathers

~ Update ~ I think I have figured out how Brynn got cut. A scab had formed over her cut. When it fell off, I examined it. I believe I found some wood fiber inside of the scab. I went back and looked at the images I took. Sure enough, I think there is a small piece of a twig or branch that she...

Thanks so much for checking up on them, Tookie! They are doing about the same right now as they were a week ago. Thankfully they don't limp or show any signs of discomfort. I think Debbi's feet might be looking a little bit better (Granted, the lighting is a little different.) That's...
