I don’t know who told you 10 weeks. These guys look to be about 4 weeks old. Super cute. Please ask any and all questions!

Cayuga ducks 8 weeks old genders

You can upload a video to YouTube and link it here. I’d guess both are drakes too based on the description, but I can’t say for certain.

Our first call duck incubation adventure (hatch-a-long)

The biggest thing to look for is veining. Veins will disappear after an embryo dies. Towards the end, it may be too dark to see veining anymore, in which I’ll look to see how full the egg is. Dark, full, hard to see = good!! And see if there’s any movement in or near the air cell (shadowing...

Looks fantastic! I wish you great luck with your hatching :hugs

    Please, show me your ducks

The bill color, feet color, and bib shape are all giveaways that it’s not a real Black Swede. The Swede-like appearance is actually really common in mixed ducks, though :p

    Aggressive or normal behavior

I also agree with SilverBirds. That IS a drake feather. Not all drake feathers do the full curl, some just a half curl. And I too only hear drake sounds in the video. If they’re both making the same sounds, they’re both drakes. I’d say she’s female.

🦆 The DUX has woken up! 🦆

Violeta was so vicious, she almost knocked all the eggs to the floor! So cute that she is sharing with Buffzilla. And Brød is stomping around like she owns the place. Gosh, you will be overrun with ducklings soon enough!! ❤️ Edit: I also have a sweet, broody bird, but she will not be...

    When can ducklings go outside!?

I’d say 4 weeks old would be best for 60°F at night.

    Please identify these drakes

I’d say 2 Silver Appleyards and a Blue Swedish. The one on the far left + last picture with the extra white on his neck may be an Appleyard mix, though. Yes, they’re all drakes, and very handsome ones :love

    My 2nd Duck Hatch!

Reminds me of a Saxony duckling, so yes, maybe Butterscotch :love
