Nine cockerels or nine pullets, or too soon for sexing?

Update: Only two of them turned out to be cockerels at 7 weeks. I think the other seven are pullets, unless some of them are really late bloomers. 😊 Pictures of one of the cockerels and one of the pullets:

Nine cockerels or nine pullets, or too soon for sexing?

These silkie/booted bantam crosses look identical to me at three weeks. Is it too soon for sexing, or do you think I’m really lucky/unlucky with my hatch? (I will post updated pictures in a couple of weeks)

    Genotype of Norwegian Jærhøns?

I agree! 🥰 I got some bantam jærhøns hatching eggs this summer, and they turned out to be the friendliest hens I’ve ever had. They are really trusting, curious, cold hardy and surprisingly good fliers. They even started laying at around 16 weeks, so they seem a good breed to continue breeding...

    Genotype of Norwegian Jærhøns?

Does anyone know the genotype of the Norwegian jærhøns (and Bantam jærhøns)? It is an autosexing breed, and they are barred. They come in two colour variations, but the only information I can find on Norwegian websites is that they are called “brown-yellow” and “yellow-brown”. 😅 What is the...

    Mille fleur seramas

That’s good news! 😄 What do you think of the genes of these seramas? They are 2 weeks old.

    Mille fleur seramas

I have six serama chicks and three serama/booted bantam (Mille fleur) chicks. The sixth serama is silkie feathered, so I guess the seramas aren’t 100% purebred. Do you think these chicks could be used in a Mille fleur serama project? What do you think their genotype is? I think I see some...

Black chick with yellow head + lavender question

Thank you for your reply! That makes a lot of sense. 😊 This is the buff silkie father:

Black chick with yellow head + lavender question

What do you think the genotype to this chick is, and how do you think it will end up looking? The mother is a lavender English Araucana and the father is a buff silkie. I bred them to find out whether the lavender araucana was breeding true (I bought English araucana hatching eggs and some of...

One of my hens’ eggs always die around day 10

I’ve hatched a lot of chicks the last couple of years. The percentage of fertile eggs is 90-100%, and I usually lose only a few chicks during incubation or hatching (and they tend to die very early or on day 20-21). One of my hens, a lavender European araucana, has never laid eggs with viable...

    Silkie hen acting weird

She is acting just as weird, but she actually seems to have a bit more energy. My chickens are free roaming every day, and I think the sun and the warm weather has been good for her. 😊 I also use to cut some my silkies’ “hair”, and I cut all of hers this summer, to make sure she can see with her...

    Silkie hen acting weird

I’ve tried to give her vitamins for several months now, though in lower doses than I gave her sister with wry neck. They get eggs a couple of times every week as well. I can try to give her more vitamins and eggs for a week or two.

    Silkie hen acting weird

I have a 1,5 year old silkie hen (hatched from eggs I bought from another breeder). She has acted weird for most of her adult life. She seems weak, and she hasn’t started laying eggs again after her ‘winter break’. Her behaviour/symptoms are the following: * No eggs * She only lifts her head...
