pretty sure we are ok with chickens in my area but went to look it up just in case. There's nothing that I can find. Dogs and cats, but otherwise nothing about chickens/fowl/poultry. Is anyone good at tracking this down? Valley Springs, California - County is Calaveras. I want to just do it...
Excellent tutorial. I was shopping around for butchers to meet that inevitable need and saw this. Although I don't plan to, I absolutely could with this instruction and I'm hard to teach. Thank you for taking the time to put this together.

@HobbitsMommie We were using the cyclone fencing because we have a huge roll of it leftover from the dog run, but maybe the frame and screening would work better. We are sure we are burying wire under the run so nothing can burrow under. I like the hoop runs too. Nesting boxes for sure...

This may seem odd, I hear people all the time saying/writing about chickens pecking at them when they get the eggs. The odd part - I grew up (through about 10) gathering eggs and haven't ever even had nudge from a chicken. I'm sure those beaks are no joke, what do you do to prevent the pecking...
