My muscovy ducks are due tomorrow but one has already started. The problem is that he's started at the thin side of the egg (bottom of egg) and I'm very worried! Do you think he'll be ok hatching himself or does he need any help?
I have 3 muscovy duck eggs (fertile) in my incubator on day 11, but I think I need a bit more information for the next few days. I need to know what humidity it should be at now and when to higher the humidity and what it should be at.
I will also need to know when to stop turning the eggs...
He was set in the incubated with four other eggs at the same time and the other four are out and are in their brooder. They all had the same temperature and humidity. I know he's breathing because I can see movement through the air sack and when I p,ace a finger on him you can clearly tell he is...
This is a chick in a egg on day 24. She is breathing but there are no chirps to be heard. So we decided to crack the egg a bit so he could have some help and one day later nothing had happened! So I went through the egg shell, through the outer air sack and looked at the inner air sack. I can...
I am planning on incubating call duck eggs soon but I can't find a lot of information online on how to hatch them. So I was hoping that someone with experience could help me out. I will need to know:
Temperature
Humid
How many times a day to turn
When to raise the humidity
When to stop turning...
It's day 20 for the chicks so I thought I would candle them once more. And I realised that early in the morning of day 20 that they had only just started to hatch into their air sack. Is that good timing or are they late?
I've got a white cockerel and a blue hen. I'm not good with the genetics of chickens at all! All I know is they have never been crossed bred in the family so they are pure white and pure blue. So would I be able to get any splash babies from this pair?
I've got a couple of these eggs incubating and just wanted to know what breeds I will get. And also is it possible to get a splash silkie out of this pair? If you have any pics please post :)
HI lucy! as you know you need a cockerel/rooster for the eggs to be fertile, so if your cockerel has been mating with your hens there is a possiblity that your eggs are fertile. just remember no eggs are deffinitly fertile. i have hatched many first layed chickens eggs and the chicks are great...
