    Question regarding quail molting

I am letting them be, hoping that they just need recovery time... but, the majority of my flock is old, and seems to be egged out, so, Having more than 2-3 eggs a day would be nice.

    Unique colours this time

Haha, true. I bought mine from a breeder, but from the "assorted" cage... so, a mix 9f everything.

    Butchering: first time complete ****GRAPHIC****

I had less issue eating it... more with the killing... For first taste: definitely a different meat, tougher than chicken. Would be nice slow roasted.

    Butchering: first time complete ****GRAPHIC****

So, I just butchered my first quail. I was planning on it eventually, but tonight it became necessary. As my newest hatch was getting older, I moved the hens into a pen with a solo older rooster... Discovered this evening when I got home that the rooster (named Duck) had quite savagely...

No.... if it's a hen, I'll keep it. If not, it goes to freezer camp. About 4 weeks old here.

That's what I thought I did.... all I did for this post was paste the BB code. Edit**** I copied the wrong code, that's my fault. Should be fixed now.
