In our round 2 in the incubator, it is now day 18 and when candling we saw that one more egg fell back along the way and stopped developing. Contents just floating around, no veins visible anymore.
The remaining 9 look really good though.
Following our own and a friend's hatching experience we...
Yes, KC are... volatile. Some people say runners are the most nervous breed. I don't know but KC's are plenty nervous :)
Our 2 little ones are now tall enough that they can hop out of the cardboard box used to move them between their indoor and outdoor large pen. Had to chase them in the grass...
Oh my what cuteness :)
Is it OK for such little ducklings (while they don't yet have feathers) to bathe and dive, getting really wet? I had this idea from somewhere that I should wait... Have I been holding them back for no reason? Should the water be warm?
Aaaand even before all you North Americans woke up, she's off again and joining the others in slug-country part of the property. She was just curious what this "broody" thing is I guess... Maybe she'll get curious again tomorrow with a larger clutch of eggs (6 currently).

Dude, we had two beautiful healthy ducklings and nine dead ones.. Was it me, was it the incubator, at this point I'll believe anything, I just want to do better.
Thank you everybody for info about the cooling time.
Our two little ducklings are now 2 weeks old and we can see the start of what will be feathers appearing.
They don't seem to particularly care for the heat plate anymore.
Over the day it's mostly around 20 C (68 F) outside, more in the...
Maybe it was made up for this book l read but presumably there is a saying : coincidence is the messenger of truth. So I guess you should take the universe's hint :)
Dry (inactivated) brewers' yeast sprinkled over his food, finely mashed peas mixed in ... that's what we did with our poor under-developed little duck in the spring following @Miss Lydia and others' advice in the Quack Shack. Thanks again everybody.
For humans you can't overdose the B vitamin...
