Silkie sexing (I know it’s basically impossible but curious if anyone has any guesses!) (2 birds)

Interesting, that seems reliable. That is exactly what my silkie rooster looked like.

Interesting. No, not really. she is about 2 1/2 right now. When she was really little (about 2 months old) she didn’t have any gold, but other than that she has remained the same color. But she isn’t as old as Ladybug. From the picture you sent I can tell Bunny has a lot more black/gold on her...

That’s really cool, they must be the same cross. I named mine Bunny, because she is like the Easter bunny.

That’s hilarious!! What kind of chicken is the non Brahma? That looks almost exactly like my Easter egger, minus the feet color.

That’s interesting, I hadn’t heard that before. Does that mean she is not purebred, or is that just not as common for Australorps?

My Jersey Giant is white, and she looked EXACTLY like yours does now. The only pictures I could find of my Jersey Giant at a younger age

I had a Jersey giant and Australorp in the same batch, they were the exact same age. They were the same size until much later, when my Jersey Giant seemed to have a growth spurt. Not sure if that is normal, but I wouldn’t worry about them being the same size. Unless my case was unusual.

That’s hilarious. I didn’t know Gold Laced Wyandottes could have a single comb.

    RIP Sarah

That’s hard when it is completely unexpected. I felt the same way when I lost my Brahma recently, she was SO sweet, I’m sure I’ll never have one as good as her.

What are your guesses for this silkie?
