Thank you! This makes me feel better. I got my rooster when he was already about 12 weeks old and very obvious, so I didn't see him feather out from his baby feathers.
I am curious too. I have a Faverolle Rooster and bought some chicks hoping for a couple of pullets for him, but they aren't indisputably light. They don't look obviously black though either. Having trouble trying to tell, and I thought all my prior thread watching had prepared me for this. HAha...
The yellow one looks like a young faverolle, but the toes and feet would be the giveaway for it. If it has 5 toes and feathered feet you've got a salmon faverolle, maybe a pullet unless there is black on the feathers anywhere. Pullets won't have any black.
