Does worming have any affect on egg laying? If I worm my peas now before egg laying starts (probably right before) does that affect the eggs or the hen in any adverse way?
My one chick has made it to five weeks - it has gotten a bit wobbly and does not seem to be too sure footed as when it was younger. I am hoping this is due to all of its feathers coming in and making it a little unbalanced. So it sits more than runs around now.
When does this pass? Also, at...
Well this is first year hatching eggs and decided to let the hen sit, she sat on 13 eggs- in the end I got one chick that I had to take from her to save it. Temp got to be too hot I think. Here is my one chick……
Thanks for posting all this info. I had a chick hatch yesterday under the hen, but she left him out, I guess he couldn’t walk too good. It was over 110 degrees here in AZ, when I finally intervened the chick was lifeless. A long night of water/electrolytes and it is more alert and active-but...
Hello - I have one cock and one hen. The hen is currently sitting on her eggs. My question is more of a “what is your experience” request.

Thank you all for the info/suggestions. I waited till he perched for the night and was able to get some styptic powder on him, without him trying to murder me! Lol
Had to clean up a pretty good amount of blood this morning - I think every time he sat down on his feet it would squish more blood...
He is not bleeding profusely, but he keeps leaving bloody toe prints when he walks. Been like that for awhile (couple hours) now, thought it would’ve clotted by now.
