I buy my feed from Mennonites that grind grains up and add a vitamin package only. From time to time the girls will slow down some but usually one egg a day until they get some age on them. I don't trust store bought feed at all !!
I have a Dickey Incubator that I repaired. I need the 2 hour timer motor with micro switch. Mr. Ernest was bought out by Rocker and I cannot get them to answer the phone. The assembly is sold to them by MTS Inc. but they do not sell pieces and will not skip the middle man. Awesome incubator...
I just hatched maybe 50, and we gave them away to people here in our small town. With the feed stores charging so much for them, I am rebelling against the system. Summer of "Free Love" !!
Thank you, we don't believe in being disrepectful to God's creation either. I do harvest animals for food, but never in a cruel manner, and we are always thankful for them.
I have had chickens for 20+ yrs. and hatch every season. I have enjoyed the forum and now I am a member, WoooHooo! I just put 84 eggs in the Dickey Incubator Sunday. I currently have 11 Dominique mix hens and two roos free to roam the yard.
