    Rotten shipped hatching eggs?

Thanks for your replies. Straight to the incubator would be best then and maybe just dont turn them for a few days? I am not going to ask for a refund as I don't think they will even consider it but I will not be ordering from them again.

    Rotten shipped hatching eggs?

I ordered hatching eggs from someone a few states over and they shipped them to me. They were packaged well and all but one made it intact - it had a hairline crack so I tossed it. I did notice when I was unwrapping them that they were sticky - I think the bubble wrap may have had an adhesive...

Is Isabel same as lavender buff columbian?

Cute!! It looks like the baby has lavender and dilute gold coloring? In order for lavender to show up in feather color you have to have 2 copies of the gene so your rooster must be a split (meaning it carries 1 copy of the lavender gene). If you breed a split to a lavender bird you will get...

Is Isabel same as lavender buff columbian?

I bet they are beautiful! Have any pics? I finally figured out the chicken calculator and according to it both the columbian and partridge patterns are considered "Isabel". Also interesting (to me anyway!) is that with this cross the male offspring will always display the columbian pattern (in...

Is Isabel same as lavender buff columbian?

Thank you! Yes, I am not NPIP yet but I have the contact info to make the appointment. I have a few birds that are not old enough to test yet and since I dont have enough eggs being laid to consider shipping yet I figured I would wait until I was ready since you have to do it every 6 months.

Is Isabel same as lavender buff columbian?

Honestly for the color I am waiting to see how the chicks hatching this year grow out. I know they will definitely be lavender and according to others on here that have a much better understanding of the genetics the columbian pattern should be dominant to isabel (partridge) which would indicate...

Is Isabel same as lavender buff columbian?

I have sold a few chicks from them and have more eggs in the incubator. Where are you located? I am in western NC. I might have hatching eggs for shipping available later in the year but they are new and inconsistent layers and right now I am just checking fertility.

The "Ask Anything" to Nicalandia Thread

Hi - wondering if you have a thought as to what I can expect from crossing a lavender buff columbian Brahma roo with lavender partridge (isabel) Brahma hen - I know they will be lavender something but is the columbian gene dominant to partridge or vice versa..or will it be a certain ratio of...
