I wasn't sold RIR rooster then :(
I was sold this guy as a RIR...
And this one...
I figured this guy was a Wellsummer because the other two had the black undersides...
So by what you are saying #1 & #2 pics are Wellsummer and #3 pic is a RIR?
How can one differentiate between a wellsummer rooster and a rhode island red rooster? I'm searching online and they seem too similar for me to differentiate. Are their any stark difference you could point out?
I'm wondering how much feed the cornish x needed over the rangers. Like they are ready sooner but do they require more daily feed?
I looked after a fellow farmer's red rangers last year and we didn't mind the taste but felt they were on the smaller side considering how much feed they consumed...
I'm looking to borrow a couple chickens if possible. I need to borrow a blue red laced Wyandotte hen and a Mille fleur rooster for long enough (a month) to get some viable hatching eggs. I'm in the southern most part if Illinois.

Day 1: Lost one bird - went to get meds from store. Gave...
Would you say the risk is just limited to chicks or also for adult birds?
I did NOT fill my bin with water- figure it can't hurt to wait and let the littles grow... I worry because I have seen some of them wading in the kiddie pool. All it takes is one hop in deeper water and there sunk : /...
Can I ask if any of you went through the process of acquiring an Illinois Egg License?
I'm debating doing it and having an inspection but I'm kind of at a loss about the egg washing- USDA approved of course. I don't wash our eggs at all for our family's use but for selling off site I'll need...
