    Peahen nesting on rooftop..?

Foxes can climb..? I think I will wait until the eggs are starting to hatch, then somehow put a cage over her and the nest, then assist them all down! Fingers crossed! ;) I have another peahen who has also dissapeared, but I haven't found out where she sits yet..

Why do you love your guineas? The positive side of being owned by a guinea

Oh that is so sad, what a shame that the eggs didn't hatch... Poor Mary-Jane and Spiderman! (Love the names!) Hopefully they'll try again next year! Xx

Why do you love your guineas? The positive side of being owned by a guinea

Keets!! They are the cutest chicks ever! I love to see how all the hens nest together and hatch a huge clutch! The keets are sooo tiny! Sadly they are also very fragile, but still out flock grows every year. They travel all around and eat everything! I hardly need to feed them. I dream of having...

    Peahen nesting on rooftop..?

Hi, thanks for the picture Dany12! That's great! What is that structure, is it specially made for peahen nesting? How do the babies get down, do they just jump off? Bluchick2u, thanks for the info, I might have to think of something else then! I think there is no point trying to move her, I...

    Peahen nesting on rooftop..?

Hi, I'm after some advice from experienced peafowl people :) One of my peahens has made a nest and laid eggs on top of a shed (outside of my yard). This is the first time they have laid eggs, they are only 2 years old, the male is 3. She sits on the eggs and comes down regularly to eat, then...

Hi, sorry I haven't checked in for a while and didn't realise there were new replies! I can't find the facebook post anymore now, but I do remember that after I posted this, a new reply was posted by someone who said the same thing as some of you: it's a spalding hen. That sounds very...

    Help with sexing peachick?

Thanks for your comment, Dany12! I'm still not sure though... What about the barring on the feathers and the rusty flight feathers? Also, sometimes his neck feathers do look blue. This is a photo from the front: The reason I want to be sure is I want to get him/her a friend of the opposite...

    Help with sexing peachick?

Hi, I have a 4 month old India blue peachick with some sex confusion. He is incubator hatched, there were two but the second one was grabbed by a dog... Now "Walter" is always alone, he doesn't connect to the older peafowl (1-2 years). I want to get him a friend but want to be sure first what...

Silkie 3 months hen or roo..?

Hi, I have a 3 month old silkie that I can't figure out..! Really hoping it's a hen because I already have a Silkie roo! (The grey one) The white one is much smaller than him and still peeps and behaves like a chick. The roo acts protective towards the chick and calls it to eat, but I don't know...
