Great!!! Its the best feeling when you enter the coop to that one magical egg!:D Congrats!

Get a trap door nesting box. When the hen goes in the box it trips the door to fall down behind her. When you go to check for eggs the her will be in the box with her egg! Then you can keep track of which hens are laying the eggs you find so its no longer a mystery! Hope you look into this!

What time of day and what age should I add the younger chicks to the coop? There is 6 RIR chicks. There are already 2 chickens in the coop that are about 1 1/2 years old. Thanks!

Just picked ours up yesterday from the local TSC, very spunky little girls! We got 6 RIRs!

We are lucky to have many golf balls around, and that seems to draw mine to hang around the boxes more.

Is the run fenced in? If it is you might consider chicken wiring across the top. Thats how my flighty ones are contained. ;)

I already have a Blue Faced Hatch game and a Flarry Eyed Gray game chicken, but I was wondering if non-game chickens would mix?
