Oh no I'm so sorry! It's rough when you love them and don't know what to do to help them. I'm glad lottie and y'all got at least a little bit of time together before she passed. So sorry for your loss. 😢
Omg she's so beautiful! I have no idea what could cause either of those things, but omg she's adorable!! And for some reason, thanks to @EdgeC , all I can think about is sniffing baby chickens. 🤷🏻♀️👃🏻🐤🐥🐤🤦🏻♀️. Can't stop thinking about what they would smell like. 🤔😳 I must find out...
She seems better. I think she got all the egg out, and the prolapse went back in on its own, but she laid an egg and it's visible but not out. Thank u for asking
I brought her in and put her in some warm water to soak. She then had a prolapse. I left her in the water, and every little bit she would get some egg out. I saw part of the shell come out. It looked like a big piece. Next thing I know, she's running around in the living room quacking and...
Ok I feel like an idiot, but ummm...how did u feel for egg shell left in her? I've got a horrible case of bumblefoot in the tub, and I just found a khaki duck not eating and waddling like a penguin. When i finally caught her, there was yolk leaking out.of her. 😭 I don't know why,but I'm...
I heard coyotes will hear the momma cow going in labor and they will surround her and keep messing with her until she delivers the baby. They said sometimes the mom will stomp the newborn to death to keep the coyotes from killing it. 😥
She was such a sweet baby girl. Does anybody else cry and go all to pieces over a dead duck or chicken? Farmer people look at me like im crazy. I can't help it, I love them so much and it breaks my heart to know that there may have been something I could have done to prevent this from happening.
I went outside and my sweet baby girl mellie was laying beside the heat lamp dead. 😭😭😭 I don't think she froze to death, she was right by the heat lamp. I don't know what happened....does anyone have any ideas? 😭😭😭
They were in the bathtub until we got them a run built. And I cleaned them out everyday, sometimes twice a day. They just got in the run, and I put hay in there for them. I went and got some pine shavings a couple days ago, and I just noticed today the feathers missing and her little feet.
