Comment by 'Dmparrish' in article 'Pelletized Bedding / Shavings'

Ive used it for my rabbit and recently transitioned from flakes to it for my chickens. The pellets are much larger than their food. The rabbit literally will eat anything and I've not had an issue with him. I will continue to look out for crop issues but I really think the chickens wont mess...

Review by 'Dmparrish' in article 'Reasons for Tossing Out Your Indoor Brooder and Start Raising Your Chicks Outdoors'

Wonderful article! I'm definitely going to try this going forward! Also, the picture of them from the back while they're looking out the window is ADORABLE.

Has anyone tried dry incubation and does it work well? And a sexlink breeding question.

This may not help you, but with my quail, I have always done dry hatch and have had great hatch rates. With my seramas, I did the normal wet method and out of 5 eggs, 4 developed, and two hatched successfully. However, seramas have a low hatch rate in general. I am currently incubating duck eggs...

    Quail sick or attacked?

I don't think so, he's not very inquisitive and tries to stay hunkered down. Either way the wire in the picture is big enough that it wouldn't scrape and I have a second hardware cloth on the other side you can't see from pics that is too small to even attempt to stick a head through.

    Quail sick or attacked?

I can't tell if my Coturnix is sick or if he got attacked. I don't see any blood but also, I just looked after them yesterday and he looked fine. If he was sick I'm not sure it would make him look this bad in less than 24 hours. Anyone have any idea?

    vitamin and electrolytes forever?

I was thinking that my quails have been so healthy so maybe i would just continue to give them the supplement indefinitely. I have a whole container and i am only planning on having my dozen or so. Is there harm in it? Can they have 'too much?' (doing the powder mix i got at tsc 1/3 tsp per...

    Dramaquail

I cannot. This bird likes to sprawl out like I have never seen a live bird do. Everytime he takes a nap and I pass by the cage I think he's dead and then he jumps up and does his bird things. #quaillife 🤣🤣

    Warning: quail drowning

This was my first time incubating. 12 chicks made it. I have them in the producers pride brooder. I didn't trust the heating plate that it came with so I took it out and put in a heat lamp in one corner and a small heat plate in the opposite one. They were all thriving till yesterday. It was the...
