    Pecking? Bald spot?

This hen has an odd "perfect mohawk" bald spot on the back of her neck. It doesn't even look like feathers will grow back. It's been there about two weeks. There is one rooster, the white frizzle/silky in the photo, and there are two other hens. I haven't seen any of them pecking each other...

    Collecting eggs for hatching

One more question, if you don't mind... When I first collect the egg from the nest box, do I candle it then? Thank you!

    Collecting eggs for hatching

I would like to collect eggs from my own hens for incubation. How long can I keep them until incubating and how do I store them until it's time? Thank you in advance!

    Odd looking eggs

How can this be prevented? Is it dangerous to the hen? Thank you.

    Odd looking eggs

The hens are not a year old, two from the same hatch. The shell is hard. And I can scrape off the deposit and the shell is hard and intact underneath the deposit. Thank you for your information and opinion! Happy New Year!

So you think there's nothing wrong? Like with their diet? Thank you!

    Odd looking eggs

Can anyone tell me why my eggs look like the pictures attached? I feed them layer feed and keep a supply of oyster shell separate from the feed. They get a little scratch each day. They are fed leftover greens, apples, etc. as a treat as well - in moderation. Thank you!
