I have the same situation. Yes you might get a few but eventually I've found that you will thin them out quite a bit. I've had feral cats,racoons,opposums even had otters take ducks on the water. The only predator that I've not been able to deal with is horned owls.

Live Trap,relocate or dispose of. Have had to deal with many predators on my property.

Forgot what breed, but the second night in New coop and they decided they wanted a window seat.

Scratch! Just went went with 8×12. 8 ft high. 6.2 doors,tired of scratching my head. 6 extended nesting boxes,maximizing interior room. 3 6ft perches,2×4 and must have poop boxes under. Be there 1st nite in. Hope they like it. Still have to remove old coop and cover remaining top.

Started this project about 8 days ago. Had to! Chicken math and my wife. She,we bought 11 hens 1 rooster last March. Ok quick build was a 8×8 Hoop coop with a 15×15 run. Worked pretty good,for little while. Sister in law gave her another hen. Ok. Then another rooster. Then local feed store had...

Good advice thank. Have one now about 4 ft high with another lower one. They kinda work there way to it. Seem to like it better than the lower ones.
