I always give my chickens one or two eggs a day. I have never had an issue with them eating them before I can get to them. I guess bc they know I'll share. My chickens loooove eggs. But they always wait for me to give to them. It's like a treat to them. I guess it's an unspoken mutual agreement...
I wouldnt use water. Just a dry rag and wipe the loose stuff off. Washing them can cause them to go bad faster as you will wash away any natural defense the shell has. Just my opinion.
That being said, yes they just need some time to settle. Muscovy is a very gentle breed. And by gentle I mean....imo they need love. It's almost like they know exactly what's going on, who they like, who they dont like. They are children. Once they have adjusted and say "hey, this is our home...
Imo it was weather and postal handling during route. Hoovers is very good with customer service. I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Hopefully the warmer days coming will help with the new shipment.
I am actually making another order in a couple of weeks with them again, and will continue with Hoovers in future.i am curious of the Gold lace. Will you post pictures when they arrive?
Yes, my favorite hatchery as well. This order was an order of x15 females and x2 showed up Male. And I am actually very pleased with the x2 roosters. They are very alert, well mannered (when feeding), they do not fight with each other or my ducks. Very healthy, very pleased with Hoovers.
