    Short Outside Exploring?

Just thinking out loud (no experience) but maybe its a good idea to take the 4 weeks old outside and keep the two weeks old inside on cold days for a another week or 2.

The tiny serama; a Hatching adventure

lovely, but I would say its a firm cheep//peep. Not a crow like young cockerels make. Watch this compilation to hear what I mean.

11 weeks old and living the good life

Chickens have individual characters just like humans. Some like to be with others all the time. Some like to make their own plan. I even have a chicken that likes to sleep alone in a seperate coop. But now this small coop is taken by a broody with a chick and she roosts with the other hens for...

6 week old chicks sleeping a lot

Whats the temp? As long as its not raining the chicks probably will be perfectly fine in a coop/run with the 4 of them, in your climate in mai. Do you have pics of the coop and run? Wet sand shouldn’t be a problem if there is a warm coop/nest they can go to. Can you make a cover against the...

The tiny serama; a Hatching adventure

It must have been a 3 week old bantam chick from next door that sneaked in. No way a 3 days old chick can crow. 🐣

How does Organic feed vs non-organic feed for chickens affect the Egg quality?

Where I live everybody gets caught. Maybe not this month or this year, but one day they certainly will. For speeding. For selling illegal products. For claims that are false. For using too much poison. For whatever is wrong.

How does Organic feed vs non-organic feed for chickens affect the Egg quality?

Incidents often caused by greed are incidents. Not common practice because of checks. Organic is a label 🏷️ with standards.

How many chickens will fit? Coop os 10x4ft. But they have the cage as well.

Since you are unable to make much costs and make the right improvements I would give it a try in another direction. Are there any friends, neighbours or relatives (like fit retired people) who would like to help you? Some city people, love to work outside in their spare time if there is no...

What’s the deal with you chicken people??

Why do my Orpingtons prefer to huddle together on the floor instead of roosting or using their nests at night? How should I design their coop?

Is this your setup? IMG_8812.jpeg 871.6 KB · Views: 8 Just adding a few ideas/comments to the previous reactions. ^^ If this is your coop it looks as if it is not safe. The maze of the hwc is way too large to keep small predators out. Good you want a new coop/run! For as long as you don’t...

Review by 'BDutch' in article 'How To Integrate Your Chicken Flock The Easy Way'

Very informative article on adding new chicks to an existing flock. Two things missing imho. If you have a small group of chicks with a broody, integration is of no concern if you have enough space and clutter. In general the mother defends the chicks and the chicks search protection with the...
