- My husband and I are newbies raising chooks. I have 4 Australorps and 2 silver lace wyandottes. I requested all girls and all Australorps. I think one of my girls (Australorp) is becoming a cockerel@ 9 weeks. The lacy girls were left over from a previous week. So I enjoy every day with them. I like chooks along with chicks... They fascinate all of us. I love my girls and questionable guy
