@21hens-incharge We saved A LOT of money! If it wasn't for the free pallets we never would have been able to afford to build a coop this large! Pallets are so useful and I think too often they are overlooked.

    Roo with a runny nose

I'm not sure exactly what he has, so I don't know what to tell you. If it's something bacterial, antibiotics are going to work, but I have no experience with that. Contact your veterinarian and see what they have to say, or if they can't tell you, ask if they know who to contact. That's what I...

:( I'm sorry to hear that... What concerns me a bit though, is that the foxes came out in broad daylight like that. That often means they are diseased.

    Eating cracked eggs?

I wouldn't eat them, but I'm not totally sure if it would be safe or not.....But what I can tell you is that she may be pecking at the eggs because she has a calcium deficiency, in which case oyster shells fed to her would help. Oh and I wouldn't bother cooking the eggs....they love um' raw...

    Chicken won't close her beak.

Assuming it's been fairly hot in your area, she's probably hot. They will open their mouths as you described, and pant. Also, if she gets hot enough she'll probably begin to hold her wings out from her sides. I don't know of anything else that would cause her to do this. Audra
