    Breed/Gender?

I think that may be what she is! She FINALLY laid - I thought she wasn’t gonna lay until spring. Just started last Saturday and is doing really great - I think we’ve got an egg a day! Haven’t cracked any open yet though, but now I’m excited to see!

    Best Ground for UncoveredRun?

Thank you so much! And yes, I should mention I only have two girls, and the run does curve around the other side of the coop, also extends under the coop. And they’re let out in the day, they seem to be very happy lol!

    Best Ground for UncoveredRun?

Ok, so I’ve been going outside this past week after light rain and the run SMELLS! it is plain dirt, and never smelt during the summer. I rake it every once in a while. Even after taking today, it still smells. My neighbor keeps overwatering their yard and flooding my chicken run (the drain is...

    Breed/Gender?

Thank you! The person I got her from said she was about 5 months but I was thinking she is younger than that after getting her.

Got this bird last week. They said California white but because of the feet I’m thinking a Austra White. Also this IS a hen, right?

Sour crop vs Impacted crop vs Pendulous crop

Ok I need help! So this chickens crops been like this for 2 weeks. We’ve emptied it twice and it came out super liquidy white. It was squishy. I thought it was impacted crop, but shouldn’t emptying it move it along? So then I thought sour crop, but she doesn’t smell sour or yeasty. And now I’ve...

    Pullet or Cockerel!!?

Alright here’s my last one. 8-10 weeks old..... I know it’d just be a guess but I just can’t help but wonder.

    Silkies

Ahhh okay! And I wouldn’t be able to... unless his crow is quiet enough. I’m hoping one of my country friends would be able to take it and if not will definitely do a coop/flock check to a new home.

    Silkies

This makes me feel better.... and is exactly the reason I’m keeping until they crow/lay.

    Silkies

I thought they were technically the same breed🤦🏼‍♀️ Oops. I was really hoping for a hen, and this ones my favorite, sweetest one

    Silkies

I know it’s impossible to sex silkie until they crow/lay but just want opinions. (I will not take action until I know for a fact. I just am a curious chicken owner!). She’s starting to develop wattles and a big comb and is 8-9 weeks. What are you thinking, pullet or cockerel?
