Hello, my grandma found 2 of these girls in the storage yard at work, and brought them home. I thought they were welsummers, but they lay a large dirty green egg. Anyone know what breed it is?

No like on top of the bin blocking the heat. Like making them shade

Maybe I can put a piece of cardboard over the far end to block some heat

The brooder is kinda small, so it’s hard to keep it cool on one side, but there definitely is a cooler side. I’ll raise the heat lamp

So my quail chicks are now about 5 days old, and since them hatching, I’ve lost 4. They just lay down with limp necks, and they are still breathing, and their legs are moving. What’s causing this?

They hatched about. 3 or 4 days ago, are late hatches still possible? There are 16 eggs that were viable at lockdown left.

Update! I think we got about 52 hatched! The lady sent 100, but 7 were cracked. 2 chicks died 24-48 hours after hatching. I’m thinking they didn’t find the water.
