5wks old...my gut tells me roo

Yes, I know they are the worst to even try sexing yet, I swear it changes so much day to day that one day I'm certain it's a girl, the next I'm convinced I have to say goodbye because it's a boy.

The comb came up quiet quickly about 4wks old, but hasn't changed any in the last 2wks.

This chick has me all kinds of sad 🤣
That comb is huge. I am still saying cockerel.

The head feathers are what have me convinced it's a boy this week 😅

They change so rapidly & watching them grow really is pretty fascinating. Just sad that I can't keep him if he is infact a he 🥺

Still sticking with a male! His comb is larger than any silkie hens’ I have seen.
As in pullets or adult hens? Because my hens definitely have bigger combs than this guy.

Also, I'm not disagreeing, I actually feel that it's a boy....I'm still just hoping so badly I'm wrong though 😅

Well, bigger than my friend’s standard bred silkie hens. Also much bigger than even a hatchery 12 week old silkie pullet’s comb. Pullets usually have very flat comb areas until they are closer to maturity.

8wks now...& still with Mumma, who has just started laying again.

I ended up sending some samples for DNA sexing, will have the results this week sometime...& then I'm pretty sure this little one will have to leave for his new home on the weekend 🥺
