How many nesting boxes should be adequate for five Hens? My current coop has 2. I ordered 4 hens but got a fifth. Looks like they are all going to make it. So wonder if I should add another neseting box to the coop?

I was cleaning out the coops today and there were bugs in the nesting boxes. There were rollie pollies which was probably a sign I need to clean out more but what is the best thing to keep mites and lice out? Thanks!

When I move my chicks into the coop do I need to have the nesting boxes already in there so they can get used to them(I'm pretty sure I read somewhere they need to be unusable until laying age, if so how do I go about doing that?), or can I add the nesting boxes later when they get to laying age?

These are my boxes. They are about 18-24" about the floor. The girls dont like them :( I have heavy breeds (buff orpington) and they will be getting curtains this weekend. Should they have a landing bar like the one shown in the drawing below? Thanks!
