8mo old stopped laying but visits nest box

If you hadn't supplemented calcium then layer feed might be a recommendation, but the fact that she cannot consistently form a strong shell with direct doses of calcium indicates it's not the feed type.

Go ahead and stop any extra calcium supplements if you are still using them, as the problem is likely that her shelling gland isn't functioning correctly. If the flock eats layer feed then it's up to you if you want to continue with that or not. Hopefully the vet will be able to recommend an...

Uh... there is an injection that will stop them from laying, but I can't recall what it's called off the top of my head (in order to look it up). It would need to be done or prescribed by a vet.

The white egg and contents look fine (just missing pigment on the shell). But yes, hoping it wasn't lash material with that earlier blob - since you said it felt "creamy" as opposed to rubbery, that's a bit more promising.

Do you still have this? If possible, cut the white blob in half and take a photo of the cross-section. It may be lash material but hard to tell without seeing inside.

If she was eggbound she wouldn't be happy as a clam. She might have enough hormones to "put her in the mood" to be thinking about laying, but not yet enough to push her over into laying again - and that can be because of time of year and lighting, stress, etc. Not unusual for young layers (or...
