#1, you are in honors classes, I am proud of you and you should be too. #2. Honors classes are harder and move at a faster pace. B's, you be dang proud of them. #3. Strive to be your best, not someone else's. Ok, your brother has all A's in honors, good for him. You are NOT your brother...

One more piece of advice and I shall step off my soapbox. I am sorry in advance if you do not like hearing this and I probably sound very similar to your dad. I believe you are close in age to my daughter who turned 16 yesterday. Get a Job, part-time is fine. Rosie works hard, does well in...

That would be Siri my last buff orp. After months of grieving for Butter and at times demanding I sell her so she did not have to look at her mom relented. I knew she would eventually. Siri now has a new nickname, Butter 2.

Yes tack is expensive. Sadly it goes along with horse ownership. Horses are expensive, everything about them. Quality tack, can last forever as long as you take care of it. Oil your saddles, and bridles. Store them in a tack room or bring them home and put them on a saddle rack in your bedroom...

I cannot answer those questions. If they are breed or sanctioned shows I am sure there are guidelines. The local shows we attend are not sanctioned so no tack requirements.

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

You have gotten some good recommendations. Now here is a bit of advice. The acquisition of tack is a rabbit hole you do not want to go down. If you count the bareback saddle pad that Rosie has used once we have 4 saddles. I think we have 8 saddle pads. 4 bridles with 5 extra sets of reins and...

That saddle, was intended to be used on Dirt. To dad's dismay does not fit him properly. Dirt has a short back. We call them trail saddles, but one of the fabertrons is a barrel saddle that he uses on him and fits him perfectly.

I will leave it to @Ponypoor for english saddles. We use western saddles. Rosie and dad each have their own Fabertron trail saddles for daily use. Mom's pride and joy and the saddle she thinks Rosie should show Russ in is our American 250. It is old, heavy but very well made and will last for...

I am going to have to keep a close eye on Poppet and the hay nests. She did not lay today, but I have gotten 5 eggs from her so far. Seeing as how today was a no egg day you would think she would not be in the nests. Wrong, I caught her hopping up after Dottie laid her egg. It took some...

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

Happy Caturday everyone. I have been keeping a secret. Welcome to the world to Trixie's 5 little ones. 12 hours Trixie, you missed Rosie's birthday by 12 hours. Yes I stated that Trixie was getting fixed after Keeper's litter. He was born August 18th. A week later the mom, dad, Rosie and...

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

Back away from the Poppet. Little Poppet juniors, we may talk. Honestly though, Poppet is my 3rd silkie pullet/hen. Poppy, Chiquta and Poppet have all 3 had similar personalities. Tiny little spitfires. Chiquita was more inclined to be a look but not touch hen I will give her that. She was...

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

YES, YES, 1000x YES!!! 1 little silkie hen, in whatever color you choose. Everyone needs a Poppet, or a Marty. Even our dear friend Alex needs to upgrade his Wal-Mart feather dusters to the real thing.

Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

I sat outside this morning from about 6:15 on. 3 hours and 2 pots of coffee later, no sighting of Momma Hen. I guess I will try again tomorrow. I will not loose hope for a few weeks yet. Momma has disappeared several times. When she hid and hatched off the group of 10 3 years ago I never once...

Congratulations I hope it becomes official tomorrow for you. I know you posted it a few pages back but how old is he again? I am with your dad on this one. No Jumping when out by yourself. Maybe in a arena with a trainer or adult present. Rosie has the same rule. Russ can pop over low jumps, I...
