Matilda is going to lose her feet. :(

I don't blame you--I grew up in the DFW area and traffic was crazy even then--I can't imagine now with all of the population boom there in the last 5 or so years. Especailly Dallas, ugh. I always thought Dallas drivers were the worst. At least on the Ft. Worth side they let you in to merge. If...

Matilda is going to lose her feet. :(

So cute! Not gonna lie, now I really wanna watch the movie Matilda. :lau Anyone down for a Matilda watch party? I've used a free app called Kast to watch movies with people remotely before and it seemed to work pretty well.

Try the library! I am cheap too and only watch movies once they are available to check out at the library, haha.

Matilda is going to lose her feet. :(

Oh man, Matilda is a classic 90s kid movie, totally worth the watch. Full of 90s cheese and very heartwarming, feels quite like a fable. It's based fairly closely on the Roald Dahl book of the same name. And Miss Honey is an adorable name for Matilda's little chicken friend!

I don't have anything helpful to add other than that to my untrained eye it looks like it is healing very well without infection and just scabbing over. Thank you for being so thorough with your photo documentation! This is all incredibly informative and I know it will help someone in the...

Matilda is going to lose her feet. :(

Thank you for the update! I was just wondering about her earlier today. Glad to see she's doing well, and so cute that she got to have a play date with her flock. ❤ is this the first time she's seen them this whole time? I wonder if she remembers that she's a chicken, haha. Maybe the foot has...

Has Matilda lost her other toes yet? Or are they still hanging on?

Matilda is going to lose her feet. :(

Oh yay! I'm glad to hear she is using the little brick to file it down herself. I hope she continues to keep it tidy. If not, I'm sure she'd cooperate and let you file it down for her. She probably trusts you a great deal now with all of this time you've been spending together. It's much harder...

Matilda is going to lose her feet. :(

So cute! Is she moving around much on her own yet? Or did she basically just sit in the basket all day accepting love? 😆

Interestingly, frostbite is possible not only without water or metal, but also without having super low temps(though the odds definitely increase the colder the air is). My understanding is that proper ventilation, specifically overhead space above the roosting area, is the first step in...

Matilda is going to lose her feet. :(

So happy to hear that she's doing well! I'm curious to see what, if any, toe flesh survives on this foot. In the meantime, enjoy your new lap chicken. :3 Side note: Is that an underbite I see? Never seen a hen with a longer lower beak than upper. Has she always had that?

Any updates on Matilda's other foot? Have her toes fallen off? I hope she's doing alright!
