Okay, these are not the best pictures, but here are my two peachicks. It might be too early, but any sex guesses? They are currently 3 weeks old.

Good! I'm beginning to suspect I maybe have two males though - I was hoping for any combo but that. They're only three weeks old though. I'll have to post updated pictures to get everyone's opinion since I'm not exactly a seasoned peachick sexer, lol.
I haven't done a ton of peafowl hatching, but for both them and geese I weigh and track humidity and I aim for a 13-15% weight loss by lockdown. Sounds like you're on track if you're halfway through and halfway to the right weight. In my last batch I knew one had quit at about three weeks...
Definitely! Probably tomorrow. I'm very prepared this time - I managed to find a medicated game bird starter, I have vitamins and probiotics for their water, and they'll be staying in the house in a brooder for a few weeks before moving to the workshop brooder.
Both are out! The first one got out all on its own. The second one was zipping and seemed to be a little stuck so I just helped it the rest of the way out.
One of my peafowl eggs has pipped! I think the other one that I know is still alive has internally pipped. The third I think was a late quitter - it stopped losing weight and when candled there is no movement but I've left it in lockdown just in case.
Did you mean peachicks specifically? Hatching chicken chicks I've noticed that if you put them right on pine shavings after hatching they may attempt to eat them, but if instead you put them on paper towels for a few days and then switch to shavings they seem to leave them alone. Maybe I'll try...
Will do! Thanks for the tip. I have a kitchen scale and a postal scale that goes up to 55 pounds so that shouldn't be a problem.
What's your opinion on the medicated feed? Will mixing be fine or should I also put them on Corid preventatively too?
Unfortunately I have to mix it, I don't have access to medicated game bird starter. It says in the stickied "Peafowl 101" post that this is fine to do. I unfortunately don't have a choice, it's the only way they're getting any medicated feed at all.
Good to know! So I guess it really wouldn't...
@Garden Peas I don't think it was coccidia that killed them - they were acting totally fine. None of the chicken chicks got sick at all. They were in a brooder with pine bedding. I didn't see any blood in the poop or anything like that. They should have been warm enough - the temp was 102...
Thanks for all the advice! I think maybe the protein in the food was too low, it was 20% and I was cutting it with medicated chick starter that was 18%. I'll do a higher protein this time around. I set the eggs earlier this evening. One has a detached air cell but the others look good so we'll see.
They were shipped from southern Pennsylvania to me in Vermont. I was brooding the babies. They were on gamebird starter with medicated chick feed mixed in. They were in with some chicks, so maybe that was what caused the problem.
First time was great, got two eggs shipped to me, hatched them both. But then they died when they were about two weeks old :( Still not quite sure what happened.
