Picked 7 tomatoes today - probably the last of the season. Others are too small to try to ripen, and we are having a hard freeze tonight. I can stretch a couple of weeks out of the tomatoes on my window sill, but then what will I do?
One plant of Lemon Boy is still in great shape with lots of green tomatoes. Weather for the next week at least is warmer than usual. I covered that plant with blankets - maybe?
Still picking tomatoes. The 'non blooming' Mr Stripey plants that I complained about earlier finally started producing lots of large tasty tomatoes. They are still ripening as are a couple of Lemon Boy plants. No frost here yet.
Thanks for the reply. Plants are strong and vigorous - 5' and still growing. Other varieties are setting fruit and doing well. I've had problems with this variety in the past, but when they do set fruit it is plentiful and very flavorful.
Finally picking tomatoes. I have two plants - Mr Stripey - that are not blooming and setting fruit. I have had problems with this variety in the past. Anyone else have the same problem?
Planted two bare root lilac bushes and replanted some lily bulbs that had worked their way to the surface during the winter. It's early on the lilacs, but I will cover them if a frost is expected.
Sounds as if we have similar DNA. My mother used to say that I was transfused with chicken blood. To bed at dusk and up at dawn. Our daughter is the same way. Son and the Princess can stay up until early AM and then sleep until noon. :idunno
