I’ve had a similar scare with a black bear while I was turkey hunting once.
I was in a blind, waiting for a turkey to come around, when, all the sudden right behind me, I hear a low growl. I realized it was a bear. I thought to myself “I’m not equipped to take out a bear.”
Needless to say, I...
OK, guys, I have a potential crisis in my garden. I need some immediate advice.
As you can see, it might get close to freezing on Tuesday and Wednesday. I’m worried that the cold temperatures these days may kill my garden. I have beans, peas, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, corn, cucumbers, and...
Can someone please help me with an ID of some garden pests?
Here is the first one. I found it on one of my radish plants.
Here is the second one, located on one of my potato plants.
I don’t even know if they are harmful pests or beneficial insects. I don’t know how to tell the difference...
Thanks for the advice. I will try a different type of sand, then. Preferably white.
This was a trial run. I’m going to build a better one with no weeds eventually.
Thanks for the advice. I’m actually thinking about building a much bigger box for this. It relaxes me doing this type of thing, so I’m gonna try and make a really nice looking one. Maybe a bigger one, too.
I just gotta figure out what type of sand to use to make it look nice.
I am 70+ pages behind. I’m not even going to try to catch up.
I need some advice. I made this today in what was once a sandbox.
I made a little raked sand garden.
Does that look good? Any idea on how I can make it look better?
Regardless, doing this type of thing really relaxes me.
Pardon my ignorance, but don’t daffodils grow from bulbs? I thought they didn’t grow from seeds.
Well, I suppose this is good. If I can find a way to harvest the seeds, I can plant them somewhere else.
Got a question for you all concerning daffodils.
They are done flowering, but this is showing up where the flowers were. They are starting to swell. Any idea what’s going on?
Shai Hulud. At least this one doesn’t have teeth. I wish I had a thumper to make sure these things don’t invade the garden.
Just kidding. I think I posted this picture already, but that’s a very long worm I found a few nights ago. I would say it was about 8 inches long. They can stay, they...
Now, that does sound creepy!
I would really like to see a picture of these “mutant” worms.
Based on your description, it reminds me of the sandworms from Dune.
