Got the wire put up for the muscadines. Planted a few more leafy greens, otherwise just waiting for the cold weather to get over with this weekend. We are not supposed to have lows in the mid 30's in April. My tomatoes got frost nipped last weekend when that cold front came through.

Amended the soil in one of my raised beds today. Also dug up & screened 2 loads of chicken compost out of the run to used in the beds. Put them in the barn until the rain blows over this weekend. Much easier to get up when it's not so wet.

With all the rain we've been having, it's really hardened up my raised beds. I went out this morning and worked them up pretty good. Looks like I'm going to need to add some organic matter to help make it less compact.

Really? I've never grown them together, but the companion charts I've seen said onions & strawberries do well together. The pungent smell of the onions help keep pest away from the berries. :confused:
