I haven't been in touch w/my garden buddies in a while.. sorry..
Here is some fresh stuff from today. Until I can have Spring weather filling the camera faster than I have been digging for a contribution..
LAST OF THE BIRD HOUSE GORDS.. Dwarfs but just clipped them about an hour ago.. Next...
maybe birds drop the seeds. Birds got into our Gords this year and I thought we had cucumbers popping up everywhere but then tiny gord pods started growing on them. We planted a single Bird House Gord plant and our backyard is covered with vines from several plants in different areas. Maybe the...
our farm name is lazy H farm.. it is like a prank title because no one wants to help henny penny with the burden of creating the bread from start to finish.. until they smell the bread resting,,.....:)
Moth for sure.
It is a variety of a IO moth.
These are horn worms.
I smash these moths when I find them hanging out in my barn.. They are a gift from Satan.
On a grosser comparison, I will chuck some of the ugly toms to the adult pigs as a healthy snack. When it rains, the poo makes it to edge of the fence line and tomatoes grow there. I have never ever seen any bugs in the poo toms. When they ripen we just throw them back in for another cycle of...
That is a fact! When toms are able to flourish, on strings, trellis or tall stakes, the will grow like a weed tall. Tomatoes are actually a vine. They can grow up, down , sideways and in circles it you train them during their growth. When we crown the tops, they branch more and more creating a...
I haven't really absorbed any appreciation from my experimental crock pot batch just yet. it is.. yes, time consuming. but the fused flavor from min speed reduction time is still making me decide if it is worth the effort. i froze some containers, so have to wait for a stove top speed batch to...

I usually crack the lid on stove top but left it on all night and didn't want it to scorch dry while I slept. The added time added a deeper flavor I think.
I always do stove top until a google find. I thought it would be nice to do something different. It said the longer it takes to reduce, the more the flavors merge and bond. I had the lid on for 3/4 of the time. So I suppose that is why it didn't evaporate the water very fast. The parm cheese...
Almost 29 hours in a crock pot. Reduced down 50%.
Just added grated parmesan cheese for more flavor/texture and a pound of our Berkshire sausage (browned).
Got lasagna noodles boiling right now. Gunna freeze the balance.
Turned out better than expected. Bon appetit!
One more reply to your post on a coincidental note..
Last night we made home made tacos, the only sauce we had was a habanero sauce, which was wow flaming hot!
I had a platter of cubes of watermelon on the table as a treat to go along with dinner, never with tacos before. Anyway, when the...
